优化之后：Windows 2000系统开始时间仅10秒，还剩10MB以上内存运行程序，系统反应速度相当快。
指南：
图一 安装最简单的Windows 2000操作系统 注意： 1.不要安装任何Service Pack（在主流系统上，SP可以提高计算机性能和稳定性，但是对于古董机来说，只会拖累系统）。确认你的Windows 2000安装CD没有预先集成任何Service Pack。
2.不要安装任何多语言支持
3.不要从任何Windows系统升级
4.格式化系统时使用FAT方式，不要选择NTFS
步骤： a.取消鼠标阴影
b.取消一切显示效果，包括彩色图标
你可以使用16位彩色桌面，取消高彩图标支持、淡入淡出效果以及托拽中显示窗口信息等“花哨”功能。
c.移除声音主题以及声卡
d.取消不需要的服务（最重要的部分）

* Infrared Monitor
* Removable Storage (for USB drives, attachable CD drives etc.)
安装并使用X-Setup（取消大部分Window隐藏服务）
需要取消的服务包括： * disabke activedesktop
* use "Classic" Explorer style
* disallow file and printer sharing
* Shutdown can auto-end programs
* Service timout when system shutdown decreasde to 10sec
* Disable group policy objects (GPO)
* Disable dr. watson just-in-time debugging
* Disable "last access" attribute of files (this is important for drive/processor speed)
* disable "secure desktop" patch
* Disable windows file protection (t这对于提高运行速度来说非常重要)
移除LPT/打印机端口，取消打印机和文件共享
